Our Spaces
‘Our Spaces’ is a photographic examination into the lives of various different LGBTQ+ citizens, living in a post-referendum Ireland. Through these investigations, this project explores the often complex narratives of these people in a rapidly changing environment, through the mediums of portraiture and intimate interactions. Each portrait is captured in a ‘safe space’ which the subject inhabits. These spaces range from public to private, from nightclubs to bedrooms and other intimate spaces in between. This project aims to highlight the importance of these ‘safe spaces’, while highlighting their value and expressing how they can be used as a platform for growth and self expression for the LGBTQ+ community of Ireland.
